Katherine Mercier serves as Vice President of Quality and Compliance at Viking Therapeutics. She has over 20 years of experience in quality assurance, technical operations, and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Prior to joining Viking, Ms. Mercier held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in biotechnology companies, where she led the development and scaling of phase-appropriate quality systems and operations to support late-stage clinical development, regulatory submissions, and commercialization. She previously served as Vice President of Technical Operations & Quality at Evofem Biosciences, where she oversaw Quality and Technical Operations for a small molecule combination product from late-stage development through NDA filing and commercial launch within a virtual company model. Earlier in her career, she held Quality and CMC roles at Vital Therapies, Sandoz, and Dendreon. She has extensive experience managing global contract manufacturing networks and supporting regulatory inspections and product approvals.

Ms. Mercier earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada.
